“The father-son relationship and the way the present treats the past are universal topics which have been explored by world literature in many different ways. Naturally, the milieu in which this particular story takes place is of great interest to me, it’s close to my heart, painful and emotional. In it, we discern some of the peculiarities of the Balkan mentality. I think it is favorable and important to go back to the stories that open up new inquiries and present us with new perspectives on the Balkan war conflicts. The Yugoslav folklore is very much present in this performance, it abounds in different characters and situations which, in a humorous and shocking manner, illustrate the period. However, the main focus is on the son who is trying to rebuild his identity and the father, a convicted war criminal, with whom the son is reacquainted, thus completing a puzzle of memories, nightmares, stories and anecdotes.” – Marko Misirača
