Information

Through the use of music, dance and personal testimonies of seven performers, the documentary performance PULSE seeks to unravel the layered nature of communication. We wanted to know  how we communicate with one another in a world of noise and presupposition, in a world void of feeling and observation.

What does it mean to listen, to hear, to look and to see? What does it mean to genuinely feel the music, dance the person before you? What are the ways in which we express ourselves and our inner worlds? What obstacles do we encounter in that communication, arising either from our surroundings or from within ourselves?

By exploring sound, movement, speech, sign language, as well as our inner worlds, the performance opens up to the mutual spaces of the deaf and the hearing. We enter the spaces of understanding, silence, insecurity, sincerity, tenderness and vulnerability, seeking fragile thresholds where communication can only just begin.

PULSE is part of the ALL INCLUSIVE project by the EUNIC Cluster Bosnia and Herzegovina, coordinated by the Goethe-Institut and funded by the EUNIC program European Spaces of Culture 2024/2025.
